Resilience is not an innate or fixed condition, but a learned set of skills that families, schools and communities can help children develop. As students return to in-person learning after COVID, educators and counselors can provide resources and experiences for students to build positive adaptive skills.
* Participants will understand the physical and psychological process that occur when a child experiences adversity.
* They will develop skills and strategies for helping to buffer the impact of stress and lead to resilience.
* Participants will understand the unique power of story and narrative skills as a resilience-building mechanism for children.
