The writer will share research from the Veterans Administration from the Compensated Work Therapy model and evidence-based program for the recovery to working life's for Veterans medically labeled with Bipolar and Schizophrenia. Participants will learn how recovery from serious mental illness and wellness is possible and apply this evidence to their practices and settings. Counselors and those in training or other interested persons in recovery from mental illness will see evidence of how seriously mentally ill persons can adjust and return to working life's. These research findings are a fit for the Counseling Holistic Model as the profession first developed in the 1950's and enhance our return to our original Recovery model from mental illness that is apart from the prevalent medical model in the field today.
