A workshop dedicated to fostering safer and inclusive environments for LBTQIA+ youth. The purpose of this crash course is to help staff and educators gain tools, skills, and knowledge around LGBTQIA+ youth which in turn better serves their LGBTQIA+ students unique needs and fosters safer spaces. Objectives for the presentation include: (1) understanding the important terminology in the LGBTQIA+ community and the most frequent terms used by youth, (2) gaining knowledge around LGBTQIA+ history and where we are in today in regards to LGBITQA+ youth rights, recognizing the importance of pronouns and chosen name usage, Utilizing the power of storytelling to foster safe and inclusive interactions with LGBTQIA+ youth, and implement other tools and skills to create and foster safe spaces for LGBTQIA+ youth.
