Screens are ubiquitous in the modern world, and have been made all the more necessary in the past year. While digital technology has allowed us to stay connected, continue learning through remote education and stay in touch with friends and family, there is a dark side to this tech revolution. Exploring the impacts of COVID-19 on digital technology use and the impacts on mental health and wellbeing, participants will examine both their own screen habits, as well as their students. Gaining tangible, transferable tools, participants will acquire skills in order to support students in exploring their personal relationship with screens and the positive and negative impacts in their lives. Finally, attendees will walk away with the confidence to disconnect from screens, reconnect with themselves, and support their students as we navigate a post-pandemic reality and the gifts, and challenges this presents in all our lives.
