Mike is past Interim Dean and Associate Dean for Research in the UCSB Gevirtz Graduate School of Education. He is a fellow of the American Psychological Association and the American Education Research Association and a member of the Society for the Study of School Psychology. As the IES Project Covitality Principal Investigator, he directs the California Student Wellness Study (CSWS). During the past five years, the CSWS developed a proven, California-relevant approach to monitor student positive social and psychological well-being. Develop for and with California educators and students; this presentation summarizes CSWS research and shows how schools are using the CSWS measures to monitor well-being. These measures form a critically-needed, flexible, validated approach to monitoring California students' well-being at the population and individual levels.
